If God promised it, He’ll do it–period.

My prayer for us today…

”Father, today marks the day you received my mom into heaven. I miss her Lord and I pray every day that I am showing the kind of love that she showed, being the kind of example she was and having the relationship with you that she had.

As I sit this morning, with a combination of a heavy heart because she is no longer here, yet a rejoicing in my spirit over the fact that she is with you, I am reminded that she NEVER doubted you.

Today, my God, I sense that my friend who I bring before you, has a need. I feel they struggle, at times, as I have, with knowing beyond all circumstances that you will fulfill your promise.

Father, as I think of David, who you promised victory to, yet he doubted you by taking a census of his troops, I realize how… even more than he… you saw my mom as a person after your own heart.

She never doubted you. Lord, when I was growing up and we had no money to repair a furnace, she told me calmly, “God will take care of us.” Sure enough, Lord, the money came… in the exact amount we needed… to the penny. She knew you’d promised you would take care of her, had seen you do it her entire life, and she never wavered from that. I witnessed over and over throughout my life, not only how you came through on promises for my mom, but how she ALWAYS gave you the glory and told others over and over, “God will take care of us.”

So, my Father, I ask that you cause that same spirit to rise up mightily in me and my friend. Cause us to know beyond a shadow of any doubt, that you will always keep your promises. And Father, tell my mom how much I love her and how I long every day to be like her.

Tell her, Lord, I am here, humbled and honored to do the work of telling others that you will take care of them. She told me often how proud she was of me, I can just hear her saying to the people in heaven, the same words she’d say here, “That’s my daughter.”

Cause me, my God, to be the daughter you would have me be and share the message you would have me share. And, let that message always be, if God promised it, he’ll do it… period. Let my mama be proud of her baby girl yet today. Amen”
